세무대리인의 경제적 성공에 영향을 미치는 요인

Factors affecting financial success of Korean tax preparers

본 연구는 세무대리인이 경제적으로 성공하는 데 중요한 요인을 파악하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 현재 서울지역에서 세무대리인으로 개업하고 있는 공인회계사와 세무사를 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 세무대리인의 성공에 중요하다고 생각되는 22개의 변수를 선택하여, 각 변수가 세무대리인의 성공에 얼마나 중요한 가를 측정하였다. 이렇게 측정된 변수를 요인분석으로 7개의 요인으로 압축하였다. 각 요인별로 중요한 정도를 비교한 결과 “세무서비스의 정확성”이 세무대리인 성공에 가장 중요한 요인으로 파악되었다. 다음으로 “세무서비스의 신속성”과 “고객요구에 맞는 세무서비스”가 중요한 요인으로 파악되었다. 이 요인에 이어 “세무대리인의 인간관계”가 중요한 것으로 파악되었다. 이에 비하여 “세무대리인의 국세청/일반기업 근무경력”과 “세무서비스에 대한 수수료”는 세무대리인의 성공에 상대적으로 덜 중요한 것으로 파악되었다. 이러한 결과는 세무대리인으로 성공하기 위해서는 “고객이 원하는 서비스를 정확하고 신속하게 제공”하는 것이 중요하다는 것을 의미한다. 또한 본인의 경력을 이용한 고객의 확보나 세무조정수수료를 통한 가격경쟁보다는, 고객에게 질 높은 세무서비스를 제공하는 것이 무엇보다도 중요하다는 것을 본 연구를 통하여 알 수 있었다.

This study is to identify important factors affecting financial success of tax preparers in Korea. Data were collected using questionnaires filled out by Certified Public Accountants and Certified Public Tax Accountants in Seoul who were registered as Korean tax preparers. Analysis of data showed that the most important factor is “Accuracy of tax preparer service.” Also, “Quickness of tax preparer service,” and “Providing services adequate to clients' needs” are important. However, “Personal relationship of a preparer,” “Preparer's experience of working for the Korean Internal Revenue Service or business corporations,” and “Fee of tax preparation service” are not found to be relatively important. This result implies that, to become a successful tax preparer, Korean tax preparers focus their efforts on providing accurate service more quickly to their clients, rather than on lowering their service fee.
