도르트 총회가 제시하는 목회자 세움방안과 예배 회복

The Pastor Education at the Synod of Dort and the Restoration of Worship

코로나 이전에도 그러하였지만, 코로나와 함께 한국 교회는 이전까지와는 다른 차원에서 예배의 위기를 경험하고 있다. 그러나 아무리 시대가 변화하고 예배환경이 변한다고 하더라도 예배의 본질은 하나님 말씀의 선포에 있다. 그러므로 새로운 변화의 갈림길에 선 한국 교회는 목회자 역량의 강화라는 방법을 통해 새로운 시대를 준비하고 예배를 회복해야 한다. 이를 위해 400년 전에 개최되었던 도르트 총회의 목회자 후보자 교육에 관한 논의와 결의는 우리에게 역사적 산 교훈이 된다. 도르트 총회 직전의 네덜란드 개혁교회는 목회자 수급 부족과 자질 부족이라는 이중고 가운데 있었다. 이를 위해 도르트 총회는 중심회기 이전회기에서 제일란트 대리인단의 견해서를 중심으로 목회자 후보자 교육에 관한 안건을 다루었고, 유의미한 몇 가지를 결정하였다. 그중 목회자 후보자의 선택과 관리, 균형 잡힌 교육, 그리고 강도권의 강화와 같은 내용은 오늘날 우리에게도 유의미한 함의를 지닌다. 예배의 본질이 말씀 선포라면, 말씀을 선포하는 목회자의 세움은 곧 예배의 세움과 회복으로 직결된다. 그러므로 도르트 총회가 우리에게 보여주는 목회자 세움방안을 교훈으로 삼아 우리의 목회자 세움방안을 재정비하고, 그것을 통해 다가올 시대에 적합한 목회자를 양성하게 된다면, 한국 교회는 오히려 더욱 견고해지고, 우리의 예배는 더욱 영과 진리로 드려지는 예배로 회복될 것이다.

The worship of Korean Churches come to a new crisis with Covid 19. However times and the worship circumstances have changed, the essence of Christian worship is always in God’s Word and its preaching. Hence, the importance on preaching of God’s Word will be much more increased in the worship of Korean Churches at upcoming new normal time post corona. Therefore, the Korean churches which stand in a turning point have to restore the worship by reinforcing the pastor education. For this purpose, the decision of Synod of Dort on the agenda of educating pastoral candidates can be our living lesson. The Dutch Reformed Churches just before the Synod of Dort suffered both by insufficient number of pastors and by unqualified pastors. For this, the Synod of Dort discussed the agenda of educating pastoral candidates in the Pro-Acta sessions with the document of Zeeland delegation, and made some meaningful decisions. Among them, the choice and supervision of pastoral candidates, well-balanced education, and the matter of the license to preach are applicable to us. Given that the essence of worship is in the preaching of God’s Word, pastor education is directly connected to the restoration of worship. Therefore, the worship of Korean churches will be restored, taking the decision of the Synod of Dordt on pastor education as a living lesson.
