This study empirically tests the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on TOEIC learning among 487 university students from a university Faculty of Aeronautics. The study tries to find an effective way of utilizing an AI-centered English course to develop aeronautics students’ listening and reading ability. For 15 weeks, the participants took a 2-hour weekly course through their own computers or mobile devices. During the class hours, the participants engaged in the English course by studying the TOEIC with AI. In order to examine whether there was an increase in their TOEIC scores, pre- and post-tests were administered before and after the treatment. Data gathered by the TOEIC pre- and post-tests were analyzed by descriptive statistics and paired samples t-tests. The major findings demonstrate that AI can positively affect aeronautics students’ English listening skill. However, their scores decreased on the reading test. There was a statistically significant drop in the mean score from the reading pre-test to the post-test. Based on these findings, limitations and suggestions for the future study are made.
