According to 'Regional Industry and Employment', a magazine published by the Korea Employment Information. Service with a special feature on 'Local Extinction', as of March 2022, there were 113 areas at risk of extinction, which is about half level(49.6%) of 228 local government. As the crisis of local extinction spreads, government ministries are working hard to prepare various policies and strategies for local revitalization in order to revitalize the local areas. On the other hand, fishing villages are in a more serious situation than in rural areas due to the unfavorable accessibility that most of them are located on the outskirts of the country. Although the fishing village is currently facing a crisis of extinction, policies related to the sea, the livelihood of fishermen, have been thoroughly neglected in policies that prioritize growth and economic logic for the past several decades. S0, this study intends to examine the current status and causes of local annihilation and fishing village extinction through a search analysis of articles related to local extinction and fishing village extinction, and to provide suggestions for responding to the crisis of fishing village extinction. According to the results of the analysis, an accurate analysis of the causes of the disappearance of local and fishing villages is a prerequisite, and policies that reflect the reality of each local government and fishing villages are needed. In addition, it is necessary to change the perception that the disappearance of provinces and the disappearance of fishing villages is a problem at the national level and social consensus on balanced regional development must be achieved.
