김수영 시에 나타난 ‘집’과 ‘길’의 현장성

The Siteness of ‘House’ and ‘Road’ in Kim Soo-yeong’s Poetry

본고의 목적은 김수영 시에 드러난 현장성을 규명하는 것이다. 현장성은 실제 벌어지는 시인의 체험이 현장의 요소들과 교섭하여 작품 창작을 추동하고 작품의 구조 형성에 긴요하게 작용하는 것이라 할 수 있다. 김수영 시에서 ‘집’과 ‘길’은 그의 작품 세계에서 뼈대를 이루는 두 현장이다. 전쟁 직후 처참한 상황에서도 그가 가족애를 느끼고 갈구하면서 자기 성찰을 이행하는 광경이 신당동 집을 현장으로 한 <나의 가족>에 구현되었다. 그가 생애 후반을 보낸 구수동 집은 노동의 감각을 익히고 사회를 직시하며 사유하던 자연의 현장이었다. <초봄의 뜰 안에>를 비롯해 <도적> 등의 시에서 한 시인이 비로소 진정한 생활을 체험하는 과정이 적실하게 드러난다. 서울의 시인으로서 그가 태어나고 자란 종로 거리는 그의 본향과 같으며 거기에서 만난 사람들은 그의 의식 형성에 커다란 계기가 되었다. <현대식 교량>에서 화자는 세대를 넘어 새로운 시간을 상상하면서 스스로를 갱신하는 극적인 장면을 보여준다. <거대한 뿌리>에서는 화자가 민중과 역사를 발견하는 순간의 환희를 거칠지만 진실한 목소리로 표출한다. 시 속에 나타난 인물과 사물 들은 그 거리에서 익숙하게 볼 수 있는 대상으로서 그가 길이라는 현장에서 직접 체험한 것이며 그에게 주체적 역사관과 생의 긍정성을 새롭게 일깨웠다고 할 수 있다.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the on-the-ground nature of Kim Soo-yeong's poetry. It can be said that the realism of the poet's actual experience negotiates with the elements of the field to drive the creation of the work and is essential to the formation of the structure of the work. In Kim Soo-yeong's poem, ‘house’ and ‘road’ are two sites that form the framework of his world of work. The site of him fulfilling self-reflection while feeling and longing for family love even in the dire circumstances immediately after the war was embodied in <My Family>, which took place in Sindang-dong. The house in Gusu-dong, where he spent the second half of his life, was a site of nature where he learned the sense of labor and looked directly at society and thought. In poems such as <In the Garden of Early Spring> and <The Thief>, the process of a poet's real experience of life is clearly revealed. As a poet in Seoul, the Jongno area where he was born and raised is like his hometown, and the people he met there became a great opportunity to form his consciousness. In <Modern Bridge>, the narrator presents a dramatic scene in which he renews himself while imagining a new time across generations. In <Giant Root>, the narrator expresses the joy of discovering the people and history with a harsh but sincere voice. The characters and objects appearing in the poem are familiar objects that can be seen on the street, and it can be said that he directly experienced it in the field of the road, and it can be said that it reawakened his subjective view of history and the positivity of life.
