창업이 고용과 경제성장에 미치는 효과

Effects of Start-up on Employment and Economic Growth

본 논문은 1994~2018년 전국사업체조사 미시 데이터와 통계청의 시도별 경제활동별 지역내총생산 데이터 등을 활용하여 지역-산업-년도 패널 데이터를 구축한 뒤 창업이 지역-산업별 고용과 경제성장에 미친 동태적 효과를 추정하였다. 연간 데이터를 활용해 단순시차모형과 Almon 모형을 사용한 추정결과 창업률이 종사자 수 증가율에 미친 효과는 기존 문헌과 유사하게 S 커브 형태로 나타났으며 경공업과 기회형 창업 비중이 높은 서비스업 부문에서 그 효과가 크게 나타났다. 한편 창업률이 부가가치 증가율에 미친 효과는 초기의 직접 효과와 이후 구축 효과가 주로 추정되었으며 장기적인 공급 측면 효과는 정보통신업 등 기회형 창업 비중이 높은 서비스업 부문에서만 나타났다.

This paper estimates the dynamic effects of start-up on employment and economic growth by regionindustry, using the regional-industry-year panel data in 1994-2018. The estimation results of Almon model show that the effect of the start-up rate on the employment growth is in the form of an S-curve similar to the existing literature, and the effect is greater in the opportunity start-up oriented service sector and light manufacturing sector. Meanwhile, the effects of the start-up rate on the value-added growth is mainly initial direct effect and the subsequent crowding-out effect, and the long-term supply-side effect is estimated only in the opportunity oriented start-up service sector such as the ICT industry.
