A Study on the Structure and the Meaning of Acts 2:42-47

본 논문은 사도행전 2:42-47의 구조를 분석하고 그 의미를 연구한다. 이를 위하여 2:42-47의 의미에 관한 학자들의 선행 연구들을 비평적으로 고찰하고 2:42-47의 구조와 전후 문맥을 통해 그 의미의타당성을 개진한다. 2:42-47의 의미에 관한 학자들의 견해는 두 가지로 좁혀질 수 있다. 첫째 견해는 2:42의 첫째 요소 사도들의 가르침을 중심 주제로2:42-47의 구조나 의미를 제시하고, 둘째 견해는 2:42의 둘째 요소교제(공동 소유)를 중심 주제로 2:42-47의 구조나 의미를 제시한다. 필자는 선행 연구들이 해당 본문을 도입하는 2:42의 네 가지 주제들(사도들의 가르침, 교제, 떡 떼기, 기도들)을 모두 다루지 못하는 단점들을 비평한다. 네 가지 주제들이 모두 명시적으로 주해되기 위해서는 2:42의 교차대조구조를 지녀야 했다. 2:42의 교차대조구조와 네가지 주제들이 2:43-47의 구조와 주제와도 밀접하게 연결되고 더 나아가 그 주제들을 전후 문맥에 근거하여 연구한다. 2:42의 교차대조구조는 사도들의 가르침(A)으로 시작하고 기도들(A')로 마치고, 그 사이에 교제(B)와 떡 떼기(B')가 놓여있다는 것을드러낸다. 2:42의 구조와 주제들은 2:43-47을 도입하는 기능을 하며 그 구조와 주제들에 영향을 준다. 사도의 가르침(2:42a)은 사도들의기사와 표적(2:43)과 밀접하게 연결되고, 교제(2:42b)는 모든 물건을통용하는 것(2:44-45)과 연결되고, 떡 떼기(2:42c)는 집에서 떡 떼기(2:46)에, 그리고 기도들(2:42d)은 하나님 찬미(2:47)에 상응한다. 결론적으로 2:42의 ABB'A' 교차대조구조에 나타난 네 주제들(사도들의 가르침, 교제, 떡 떼기, 기도들)이 모두 2:43-47의 ABB'A' 교차대조구조에 나타난 네 주제들과 밀접하게 연결된다. 2:42-47에 나타난 네 주제들은 구약에 약속된 대로 하나님의 나라가 회복되는 새언약 백성의 정체성을 보여주고, 동시에 교회가 당시의 화두였던 그리스-로마 시대에 꿈꾸던 이상적인 국가를 실현하는 현장임을 보여주어 선교적 동기와 동력을 부여한다.

This paper analyzes the structure of 2:42-47 and studies its meaning. To this end, we critically review scholars' previous studies on the meaning of 2:42-47, and present the validity of the meaning through the structure and context of 2:42-47. Scholars' views on the meaning of 2:42-47 can be narrowed down to two views. The first view presents “the teaching of the the Apostles” (2:42a, the first element of 2:42) as the central theme of expounding the structure or meaning of 2:42-47. The second view presents “the fellowship” (2:42b, the second element of 2:42) as the central theme. This paper criticizes the shortcomings of those previous studies which fail to address all four elements of 2:42 (the teaching of the apostles, the fellowship, the breaking of bread, and the prayers) that introduce 2:42-47, and comments on the four elements of 2:42 according to its chiastic structure and studies that the structure of 2:42 and its four elements are closely related to the structure and themes of 2:43-47 and to the context of Acts of the Apostles. The chiastic structure of 2:42 begins with “the teachings of the apostles” (A) and ends with “the prayers” (A'), revealing that “the fellowship” (B) and “the breaking of bread” (B') lie between them. The structure and four themes of 2:42 serve to introduce 2:43-47 and influence the structure and themes of it. In conclusion, the four themes in the ABB'A' chiastic structure of 2:42 (the apostles' teaching, the fellowship, the breaking of bread, and the prayers) correspond to all four themes appearing in the ABB'A' chiastic structure of 2:43-47. The four themes in 2:42-47 show the identity of the people of the new covenant, where the kingdom of God is restored as promised in the Old Testament, and at the same time, the site of realizing the ideal nation dreamed of in the Greco-Roman era.
