Love, Truth and Life: an Interpretation of Nietzsche’s woman metaphor

이 글에서는 니체가 여성에 대한 일련의 논의를 통해 궁극적으로 목표로 하고있는 지점이 어디인지를 좀 더 분명하게 드러내려는 시도를 할 것이다. 니체에게 여성에 대한 언급과 주목은 산발적이지만 지속적으로 여러 맥락에서 나타나고 있기 때문에 여기서는 특히 크게 세 가지 주제로 나누어 살펴보고자 한다. 우선 니체가 주장하는 바에 따라 사랑이 여성에 대해 갖는 의미에 주목해 볼 것이다. 그리고 이는 채찍 언명이 등장하는 장면을 다른 시각에서 바라보려는 시도와도 일맥상통한다. 다음으로 니체가 여성을 진리와 무관하고 비진리를 상징하는 것으로 서술하는 동시에 여성이 그럼에도 진리를 나타낼 수 있음을 암시하고있는 데서 확인할 수 있는 외견상의 모순을 집중적으로 조명해 볼 것이다. 이를통해 우리는 니체가 제시하는 진리관의 특징도 파악할 수 있을 것이다. 끝으로여성이 비진리와 진리를 동시에 상징할 수 있는 근거를 삶으로서 여성이라는 은유에서 찾아볼 것이다. 이는 그러한 모순을 해소할 수 있는 한 가지 가능성을 모색하는 일이기도 하다.결국 이러한 과정을 통해 우리는 니체가 단순한 여성혐오주의자라기보다는 오히려 여성성을 새롭게 평가하고 삶의 이중성에 대한 긍정이라는 궁극적 목표를 위해 그것을 적극적으로 활용하고 있다는 점을 확인할 수있을 것이다.

This dissertation aims to disclose where Nietzsche intent to arrive by means of a set of discourses about woman. We will divide such part into three parts because in Nietzsche’s opus the talks of woman appear intermediately and continuously. First of all, I focus on what love can mean in woman. And this also can be connected with the attempt to understand the statement of whip from the other point of view. Second, I want to investigate the seeming contradiction that we can find where according to Nietzsche woman can be both truth and untruth. And during this course, the characteristics of opinions of truth in Nietzsche also can be known to us. Finally, we try to suppose that why woman can be simultaneously truth and untruth is because woman can be the metaphor of life. And this discussion is not different from pursuing the possibility to dissolve the above mentioned contradiction. Eventually we can be sure the following fact. That is to say, Nietzsche is never mere misogynist but he makes use of the women’s attributes and evaluates them newly in order to affirm the double aspects of life.
