본 논문은 퍼포먼스 예술의 대표적인 특징인 수행성을 니체의 예술철학을 통 해 분석하면서 퍼포먼스 예술의 수행성이 단순한 신체적 행동이 아니라 예술적 활동성이 몸으로 체화된 행동의 실천임을 밝히고자 한다. 그래서 이 논문은 퍼 포먼스 예술의 수행성을 니체의 예술철학을 토대로 더 포괄적 개념인 예술적 활 동성으로 해석함으로써 퍼포먼스 예술의 수행성이 내포한 의미를 밝힌다. 오늘 날 퍼포먼스 예술은 행동과 사건이 복합적으로 결합되어 있는데도 퍼포먼스 예 술의 행동 미학과 사건 미학 간의 미학적 논의는 이론적 배경과 입장의 차이로 인해 서로 간극을 좁히지 못하고 있다. 이에 대해 니체 철학은 행동과 사건을 일 으키는 퍼포먼스 예술의 생성작용을 모두 예술가에 의한 예술적 활동성으로 해 석하면서 어떻게 하나의 행동이 예술적이며 문화적 사건을 일으킬 수 있는지를 보여준다.
In this essay I attempt to demonstrate the Performativity, the representative feature of Performance Art, is not just a mere physical act but is the practice of an act that the artistic activeness has been embodied. For that reason this essay discloses the connotative meaning of the Performativity of Performance Art while that is defined as an artistic activeness which is more comprehensive concept based on Nietzsche’s philosophy of art. Although Performance Art combines acts and events in a complicated way the aesthetic discussion has not been active because of the big difference in theoretical background and stance between ‘Aesthetics of Action’ and ‘Aesthetics of the Event’. In this regard, Nietzsche’s philosophy establishes all the act of occurrence of Performance Art which arouses acts and events as an artistic activeness of the artist and reveals how an one acting leads artistic events and cultural events.
