니체와 1950년대 한국 전후 실존주의문학

Nietzsche and Korean postwar existential literature in the 1950s: Focusing on Changseop Son and Yonghak Jang

1950년대 한국은 6·25전쟁을 겪고 난 이후 죽음, 불안, 허무, 부조리, 삶의 무상함, 의미 없음 등 삶의 피폐를 느끼며 진정한 인간다운 삶의 가능성을 묻는 휴머니즘을 찾았다. 당시 한국 지성계에 실존주의는 이러한 시대적 배경에서 유 입된 것이다. 실존주의는 철학계 뿐만 아니라 전후 실존주의 문학이 형성되는데 영향을 주었다. 이 글에서는 전후문학의 두 대표자인 손창섭, 장용학 등에 미친 실존주의의 영향을, 특히 니체가 미친 영향을 추적하고자 했다. 이 글에서는 먼저 1950년대 의 시대상황과 실존주의가 유입되는 과정을 살펴보았고, 제2장에서는 전후 실존 주의문학과 니체사상의 관계를, 제3장과 제4장에서는 각각 손창섭과 장용학의 작품세계와 니체사상의 관계를 다루었다. 손창섭의 경우는 병들고 욕된 인간에 대한 모멸을 다루고 있지만, 다른 한편 인간이 하늘과 미래, 생명(힘)을 추구하며 성실하고 진실한 삶을 살아가는 존재 라는 것을 천명하며 니체를 호명한다. 장용학 역시 외형적으로는 사르트르에 의 탁하고 있지만, 신의 부재, 허무주의, 피조물과 창조자로서의 이중적 인간 규정, 자아 상실, 자기 극복, 삶의 긍정 등 니체적 어휘를 사용하고 있다. 전후 실존주 의문학에서 니체사상은 시대의 물음을 묻는데 그치지 않고 인간의 본성과 조건, 인간성의 실현 가능성, 진실한 삶과 삶의 의미를 찾는데 사상적 좌표 역할을 했 던 것이다.

After the Korean War, in the 1950s, Korea felt the devastation of life such as death, anxiety, vainness, absurdity, impermanence of life, meaninglessness, and sought humanism that asked the possibility of a true human life. At that time, Existentialism was introduced into the Korean intellectual world from this periodic background. Existentialism influenced not only the philosophical world but also the formation of postwar existential literature. In this article, I tried to trace the influence of existentialism on the two representatives of postwar literature, Changseop Son and Yonghak Jang, and in particular Nietzsche's influence on this two novelists. In this article, I first looked at the situation of the times and the inflow process of existentialism in the 1950s. Chapter 2 discussed the relationship between postwar existential literature and Nietzsche's thought. Chapter 3 and 4 dealt with the existential literature of Changseop Son and Yonghak Jang and Nietzsche's philosophy. In the case of Changseop Son, he deals with contempt for sick and insulted humans, but on the other hand, he calls Nietzsche and declares that humans are live a sincere and true life, as they pursue heaven, future, and life (power). On the other hand, Yonghak Jang also relies on Sartre, but uses Nietzsche vocabulary such as absence of God, nihilism, dual human definition as creature and creator, loss of self, self-overcoming, and affirmation of life. In postwar existential 275 276 literature, Nietzsche's idea did not stop at asking questions of the times, but also played a philosophical coordinate role in asking human nature and conditions, finding the possibility of realization of humanity and true life, and meaning of life.
