니체의 진정한 교육자로서 쇼펜하우어

Schopenhauer as Nietzsche's true educator

니체에게 교육의 이상과 목표는 스스로를 교육하는 인간, 즉 자기 해방이다. 당시 독일 교육풍토 혹은 교육제도에 대한 그의 태도는 한마디로 ‘반시대적’ (unzeitmäß)이다. 니체는 1872년 「우리교육기관의 미래에 대하여(über die Zukunft unserer Bildungsanstalten)」에서 현행 교육제도의 문제점, 교양교육의 허구성, 참된 교양의 의미, 그리고 미래의 교육에 관해 설명하는 방식으로 전개 하였다. 그리고 니체는 1874년 「교육자로서의 쇼펜하우어」에서 어떤 교육이 이 루어져야 하며, 진정한 교육자의 모습을 어떠해야 하는지 찾고자 하였다. 니체 는 자신이 학습자로서 교육자 쇼펜하우어를 만나 자기 도야의 길을 거쳐서 교육 자로서 니체에 도달하게 되었다고 고백한다. 니체에게 교육자로서 쇼펜하우어 는 차라투스트라의 원형이자 전형이다. 니체가 말하는 위버멘쉬, 영웅적 인간은 ‘가르침’에 의한 교육의 한계를 넘어서는 새로운 교육목적으로 제시된다. 위버멘 쉬는 현실의 대지에 발을 단단히 고정하고 무한한 힘으로 자연으로 돌아가 이 대지와 그 위에서 삶을 존재의미와 모든 가치의 근원으로 삼는 인간, 니체의 위 버멘쉬가 그런 인간이다. 니체는 이러한 인간성을 지닌 쇼펜하우어에게서 위대 한 철학자요 위대한 교육자의 모습을 발견한 것이다.

Übermensch, as Nietzsche speaks of, a heroic human being is presented as a new educational purpose that goes beyond the limits of education through ‘teaching’. Übermensch is a human being who firmly fixes his feet on the real earth, returns to nature with infinite power, and takes life on this earth and on it as the source of the meaning of existence and all values. Nietzsche discovered the figure of a great philosopher and a great educator in Schopenhauer with this humanity.
