Impact of Peer Attachment on Delinquent Adolescents’ X-rated Media Preoccupation: The Mediating Effect of school adjustment

본 연구에서는 비행 경험이 있는 청소년들의 또래애착이 성인용 매체 몰입 정도에 미치는 영향과 이 과정에서 학교적응의 매개효과를 구조방정식모델을 활용해 확인했다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책 연구원에 의해 조사된 한국 아동·청소년 패널 조사 2010(KCYPS 2010) 자료 중 중1 패널의 6차 년도(2015년) 자료를 이용했으며, 이들 중 비행행동을 저지른 경험이 한 번이라도 있는 대상의 자료를 통계적으로 분석했다. 연구 결과 비행 경험이 있는 청소년들의 또래애착과 성인용 매체 몰입도의 관계를 학교적응이 유의하게 매개했다. 본 연구는 비행을 저지른 경험이 있어 문제아로 칭해질 수 있는 청소년의 성인용 매체 몰입에 또래애착, 학교적응이 영향을 미치는 구체적 경로를 밝혔다는 점에 의의가 있다. 비행 경험이 있는 청소년들의 성인용 매체에 대한 과도한 몰입을 감소시킬 수 있는 정책적 제언을 논의 하였다.

The purpose of this study was to examine impact of peer attachment on delinquent adolescents’ concerning preoccupation on X-rated media and to investigate the effect of school adjustment in the mechanism in order to investigate implications for possible interventions. For this purpose, this study analyzed the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS 2010) data collected by National Youth Policy Institute. First, using the SPSS 21.0 descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analyses were conducted. Second, testing the proposed pathway among the variables a structural equation modeling using Mplus 7.0 was conducted. As hypothesized, peer attachment had not statistically significant effects on delinquent adolescents’ X-rated media preoccupation. Also, delinquent adolescents’ school adjustment, including compliance with school rules had a mediating effect on the relationship between peer attachment and adolescents' X-rated media preoccupation. Limitations of the current study and suggestions for future investigations regarding causes of delinquent adolescents’ X-rated media preoccupation from the standpoint of school adjustment. Based on this results, policy implications to combat the delinquent adolescents' troublesome X-rated media preoccupation were recommended. based on the research findings.
