니체의 관점주의

Nietzsche’s Perspectivism

현 시대의 특징을 이루고 있는 것은 다양한 세계관과 다원적인 사유이다. 현재 우리는 하나의 사태를 각각의 관점에 따라 완전히 다르게 해석할 수 있다는 것을 경험하고 있다. 현재 우리에게 중요한 것은 관점들 사이의 차이에 주목하는 일이라는 점을 알게 되었다. 하지만 우리는 서로 다른 관점과 주장들이 동시적으로 나타나는 이러한 다원주의 사회에서 갈등을 경험하고 있고 더 나아가 이러한 갈등은 불가피한 것으로 받아들이기도 한다. 각각의 관점은 서로의 차이를 인정하는 것에 그치지 않고 다른 관점보다 더 타당한 것으로 스스로를 관철하려 하기 때문이다. 서로 다른 관점과 해석들의 동시성과 상호 갈등으로 이루어진 총체적인 상황에 대한 성찰은 현재 필요한 것이라 할 수 있다. 바로 이러한 세계의 근원적 다원성과 해석들의 갈등에 대해 심층적으로 성찰한 사람이 바로 니체이다. 그리고 현실의 근원적 다원성 문제를 풀어가는 니체의 핵심 키워드는 관점주의이다. 관점주의는 다원성의 문제를 확인하는 데 그치는 것이 아니라 다원성의 문제를 철저하게 성찰한다. 관점주의는 현실의 다원성을 낳는다. 관점들의 이질성과 관점들의 항구적인 경쟁의 상황, 다시 말해 일치할 수 없으며 충돌하는 다수의 관점적 해석들에 의해 특징지워지는 것이 바로 우리 현실인 것이다. 니체는 다양한 차이들이 평화롭게 공존하는 유형의 다원성이 아니라 그것들이 복잡하게 얽혀 긴장관계를 유지하고 서로 자극하고 다투는 차원의 다원성을 보여주려 했다. 본 논문은 니체의 관점주의의 근본 내용과 특징을 서술하고 니체가 관점주의를 통해 궁극적으로 염두에 두고 있는 목적에 대해 살펴보고자 한다.

Different views of the world and pluralistic thoughts constitute the salient characteristics of the present time. We have experienced that one state of affairs can be quite differently interpreted in compliance with individual perspectives. We have come to know that it is important to notice the discrepancy in perspectives. We have gone through serious troubles in multicultural society, in which diverse views and claims simultaneously come on the scene, and what is more, we have accepted that these conflicts are beyond our control and unavoidable. These disagreements result from the fact that each perspectives holds fast to its own validity claims rather than admits other’s. So, it is required that we have the ability to see and understand the coexistence of divergent perspectives and interpretations and the critical examination about the whole situation made of mutual conflicts. It is Nietzsche who holds communication with himself about the plural truths in the world and the inevitable conflicts of human understandings. Perspectivism is the key word of Nietzsche to solve the compatibility problems of the different views in the actual world. To recognize the pluralism is not the only matter for perspectivism, however. Perspectivism more radically discloses the truth of the pluralism, so that it positively produces the realistic pluralism. It is characteristic of our world that the heterogeneous perspectives are competing each other without a consensus about the interpretations originated from divergent viewpoints. Nietzsche tried to show the pluralism in which the various positions could maintain the strained relations between them but irritate and struggle with opposing positions rather than the one in which they could preserve a state of peaceful coexistence and agreement. In this paper, I will describe the core ideas and character of Nietzsche’s perspectivism and investigate the matters which he would like to show through his perspectivism.
