주권적 개인들의 공동체를 향하여

Towards a community of sovereign individuals: a contemporary significance of Nietzsche’s great politics

본 연구의 출발점은 니체의 정치사상에 대한 파시즘적 독해를 비판적으로 분석함으로써 그것이 니체에 대한 허구적 이미지에 불과하다는 점을 드러내는 것이다. 이를 바탕으로 우리는 니체 정치사상의 현재적 의의와 가치에 주목하고자 한다. 자신의 다른 개념이나 메타포의 경우에서처럼 니체는 정치와 관련해서도 분명하고체계적인 이론을 전혀 제시하지 않고 있다. 하지만 그럼에도 불구하고 그 핵심을꼽으라면 그것은 ‘위대한 정치(Große Politik)’라는 개념이다. 이는 근대 부르주아 민족국가에 대한 비판적 성찰을 통해 니체가 고안해 낸 개념으로서 국가의 억압과 지배구조에서 자유로운 개인들을 그 주체로 삼는 정치라고 잠정적으로 명명해볼수 있을 듯싶다. 우리는 니체가 ‘위대한 정치’라는 개념을 통해 주권적 개인들의초국가적 공동체를 염두에 두었다는 가설을 세워보고자 한다. 이 과정에서 프랑스의 니체주의자 조르쥬 바타이유(Georges Bataille)의 비판적 니체 수용이 적극적으로 도입될 것이다. 바타이유는 니체의 과도한 영웅적 개인주의와 힘에 대한 강조등과는 거리를 두면서도 니체의 입장을 적극적으로 되살려 자신만의 독특한 주권성의 개념을 주장한다. 이 주권성은 공동체 속에서 의사소통을 통해 실현될 수밖에없는 주권성이다. 결과적으로 니체의 ‘‘위대한 정치’’의 개념을 바타이유의 비판적 니체 수용을 통해 재생시킴으로써 국가의 과잉 통제나 관리에서 자유로운 개인을그려보는 동시에 현재 벌어지고 있는 초국가적 문제 상황들에 대처할 수 있는 새로운 정치 이념의 가능성을 모색하는 것이 이 글의 핵심을 구성한다.

The starting point of this research is to show by critical analysis that the fascist reading about Nietzsche’s political thought is a only fictional image. By means of this course, we will concentrate on a contemporary significance of Nietzsche’s political thinking. Nietzsche doesn’t suggest explicit and systematic theories concerning the politics as well as about other concept or metaphors. Notwithstanding the essence of his political thoughts is the notion of great politics. This idea is a standpoint which Nietzsche had invented through reflecting on the modern bourgeois state of nation and can be called for a moment a politics that centers on the free individuals. We shall make a hypothesis that Nietzsche intent to experiment a trans－national community of sovereign individuals based on the concept of ‘great politics’. In order to support this opinion,We will introduce Georges Bataille’s critical acceptance of Nietzsche’s point of view. Georges Bataille’s thinking is different from Nietzsche’s immoderate heroic individualism but he asserts his own particular concept of sovereignty by reviving Nietzsche’s thoughts. This sovereignty should be realized in a community via communication. After all, this targer of this dissertation is to picture the free individuals without the inappropriate controls of a state and to pursue a possibility of new political idea that can cope with the trans－national situations.
