In this study, the physical environment of 17 welfare facilities that were remodeled with wood was checked, and satisfaction was evaluated through a survey of facility officials. For the checklist for evaluation, 80 items corresponding to 5 categories were prepared by referring to similar cases, and an on-site inspection team was composed of experts with a high degree of understanding in the facility to conduct the evaluation through a site visit. As a result, it was found that overall safety was good in all welfare facilities. Safety measures were required in the construction sector in child welfare facilities and senior welfare facilities, and additional measures were required in the fire and evacuation sectors in welfare facilities for the disabled. Welfare facilities that were remodeled with wood had difficulties due to schedule changes during the construction process, but there were many opinions that they were satisfied with the pleasant environment after construction. In particular, there were many opinions that institutional support is needed so that such projects can be extended to overall welfare facilities, so it was confirmed that the satisfaction with the fact that wood provides physical and emotional advantages as well as space improvement was high.
