A Study of Metaphor Meaning and Translation Related to the Human Body Organs in the Technical Field

This research aims to study how the metaphorical meaning of the words human body organs in the discourse of technology appear in the English language and how those metaphors are translated into the Mongolian language by sampling from various sources in the context of the semantics of identity. Metaphor and discourse are inextricably linked and cannot be considered separately. Scholars have studied metaphors from many perspectives in various discourse contexts. In this work, we observed the metaphorical meaning of the words human body organs how to appear in the field of technology. Also, as a result of the research, metaphors can be equated or translated with other metaphors, and we try to notify theory as defined by scientist Douglas Butler (1986), metaphors in this field are 1) naming parts and parts and space; 2) emphasize action and time; In this work, we unanimously confirm that it is used for the purpose of 3) expressing characteristics, not time and space, and 4) creating models emphasizing both time and space. This research demonstrates the importance of metaphor in understanding the connection between history and culture. The research work consisted of the main chapters: introduction, theoretical part of metaphors, scholars’ views and concepts about conceptual metaphors, current trends, work results, suggestions, and analysis.
