T. S. Eliot who has a talent for scene staging as a poet-director creates the artistic girl with flowers in hand and beautiful hair in the garden in “La Figlia Che Piange”. This girl becomes Eliot’s central experience and symbol like Dante or Baudelaire’s symbolizing of a woman. In this respect, this girl’s image persists in Eliot’s poetry as a poetic figure who acts as a rejected lover for breakup in “La Figlia Che Piange”, an object of frustrated childhood sexual love in “Dans le Restaurant”, and an ecstatic visionary experience of love in The Waste Land. Finally this girl’s image extends to an idealized Divine Lady like Virgin Mary or Dante’s Beatrice in Ash Wednesday as well as a return daughter, Marina, who gives her father joyful renewed hope and rebirth of the soul in “Marina”. In this respect, Eliot’s poetic image of a girl as an important poetic motif stirs his memory, which enables him to recognize the transformation of the love of desire into something divine and higher.
