본고는 새로운 가사자료 <남화전가>의 작자와 서지사항을 밝히고, 기존 화전가류 가사 525종을 재구성한 <권본화전가>와 비교하여 작품의 구성과 내용의특징을 분석하였다. 작품 분석을 통해 <남화전가>가 해방 이후인 1948년 3월에‘개포면 송포리’로 알려진 지금의 경상북도 예천군 개포면 풍정리 송정마을에 거주하던 문중 청년들에 의해 지어진 것임을 짐작할 수 있다. <남화전가>의 구성과 내용은 전형적 화전가인 <권본화전가>와 비교할 때 시간의 순서대로 기록되었다는 점에서 동일하지만, 일부 항목이 생략·축소되거나추가되기도 하여 차이를 보인다. 특히 화전놀이 준비단계에서 자유롭지 못한 여성으로서의 삶을 토로하는 ‘신변탄식’이 생략되고, 일제로부터 벗어나 자유 해방을 얻은 ‘시대에 대한 회고’를 담으면서 화전가류 가사의 본래 창작 의도는 사라지고 시대상을 반영하는 결과를 가져온다. 또한 본격적인 화전놀이 과정에서 가장 비중 있게 다뤄져야 할 ‘여흥’은 생략되고 조상에 대한 ‘제사’를 지내는 항목이새롭게 추가되면서 화전가류 가사가 소재 삼고 있던 화전놀이의 성격이 근대 이후로 점차 변화되고 있음을 알 수 있다.
This study investigated the author and bibliographical issues of the new Gasa material <NamhwaJeonga>, and analyzed the composition and characteristics of the work in comparison with <Kwon’s version Hwajeonga>, which reconstructed 525 types of existing Hwajeonga style Gasa. Analysis shows that <NamhwaJeonga> was built in March 1948 after Liberation by a group of clan youths who lived in Songjeong Village, known as ‘Gaepo-myeon Songpo-ri’, which is located in Pungjeong-ri, Gaepo-myeon, Yecheon-gun, Gyeongsangbukdo. The composition and content of <NamhwaJeonga> are identical to <Kwon’s version Hwajeonga> in that they were recorded in chronological order, which is a typical Hwajeonga. However, some items are omitted, reduced, or added, showing a difference. In particular, in the preparation stage for Hwajeonnori, the ‘personal life lamentation’, which describes life as a woman who is not free, is omitted, and while it contains ‘reminiscences of the times’ that gained freedom from Imperial Japan’s rule, Hwajeonga style Gasa's original creative intention disappears, resulting in a reflection of the times. In addition, in the full-scale Hwajeonnori process, ‘entertainment’, which should be managed the most, is omitted. A new item to hold a rite for ancestors is added. Therefore, the character of Hwajeonnori, which Hwajeonga style Gasa used as material, is gradually changing with modern times.
