이 논문은 인간이 겪는 실존적 고통이 지닌 의미와 고통의 본질에 대한 문제 의식에서 출발한다. 니체는 인간과 시대를 구분하는 가장 중요한 척도 중 하나 로 “고통”에 주목한다. 고통은 나쁜 것일까? 고통은 우리 삶에서 없어져야 마땅 할까? 고통이 영원히 사라진다면 우리는 행복해질 수 있을까? 형이상학과 그리 스도교가 말해온 것처럼 우리 삶에서 고통이 악이라면, 그것은 우리 삶을 좀먹 고 병들게 할 것이다. 하지만 니체는 자신의 철학에서 고통을 삶과 실존의 자극 제로 설명한다. 그는 더 나아가 고통을 오히려 긍정(사랑)할 것을 요청한다. 니 체가 극심한 병과 고통 속에서도 쉽게 굴복하지 않고 오히려 고통의 경험으로부 터 자기 자신의 고유한 건강을 발견해냈듯이, 고통은 자기 실존에 대한 새로운 사랑 속에서 인간을 삶의 궁극으로 나아가게 한다. 이 논문은 고통받는 인간이 고통에 대한 관점을 달리하면서 자기 자신에 대한 사랑을 어떻게 변화시키는지 를 규명하려는 시도이다. 이를 위해 니체 철학에서 고통에 대한 오해와 그로 인 한 자기모순적 처방을 밝혀내면서 고통의 정신적 승화로서의 사랑을 제시한다.
This paper begins with a problematic recognition of the meaning of existential suffering and the nature of suffering. Nietzsche pays attention to ‘suffering’ as one of the most important criteria to distinguish humans and times. Is suffering bad? Should suffering be removed from our lives? Can we be happy when the suffering is gone forever? If suffering is evil in our lives, as metaphysics and Christianity say, it will corrode and make our lives sick. But Nietzsche in his philosophy describes suffering as a stimulus to life and existence. He goes further and asks us to rather affirm(love) suffering. Nietzsche did not give in easily in the face of extreme disease and suffering, but rather discovered his own unique health from the experience of suffering. In this way, suffering moves man toward the ultimate in life in a new love for his own existence. This paper is an attempt to find out how suffering humans change their love for themselves while changing their perspectives on suffering. To this end, we try to uncover misunderstandings about suffering and self-contradictory prescriptions through Nietzsche’s philosophy, and present love as a spiritual sublimation of suffering.
