VSD를 활용한 AAC 중재가 CCN을 지닌 사람의 의사소통 능력에 미치는 영향에 대한 메타분석 연구

Effects of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Intervention with Visual Scene Displays (VSD) on the Communication Ability of People with Complex Communication Needs: A Meta-Analysis

연구목적: 본 연구는 메타분석을 통해 Visual Scene Displays(이하 VSD)를 활용한 보완대체의사소통(이하 AAC) 중재가 복합적인 의사소통 요구(이하 CCN)를 지닌 사람의 의사소통 능력 향상에 대한 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 2010년부터 2022년 5월까지 출판된 논문을 검색하고, 연구 선정 기준에 부합하는 19편의 단일대상연구설계 논문을 선정하였다. 각 회기당 자료점을 수치화하여 Tau-U 효과크기를 산출하였고, R studio version 4.2.0를 통해 메타분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과: VSD를 활용한 AAC 중재를 통해 CCN을 지닌 사람의 의사소통 능력 향상은 큰 효과크기(Tau-U=0.9426)를 보였고, 통계적으로 유의한 결과로 나타났다. 조절효과 분석 결과, 중재목표별 효과크기는 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 연령 및 또래 참여여부별 효과크기는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 결론: VSD를 활용한 AAC 중재는 전 연령대 CCN을 지닌 사람의 의사소통 능력 향상에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Augmentative and Alternative Communication(AAC) intervention using Visual Scene Displays(VSD) on improving the communication skills of people with Complex Communication Needs(CCN). Method: 19 single-subject design research papers from 2010 to May 2022 were selected for a meta-anlysis. The researchers quantified the data points of the selected studies per session to calculate the Tau-U effect size. R studio version 4.2.0. was utilized for the analysis. Results: The improvement of the communication function of CCN through AAC intervention using VSD represented a large effect size (Tau-U=0.9426) and showed statistically significant results. As a result of analyzing the moderating effect, there was a significant difference in the intervention target effect size, and there was no significant difference between age and peer participation. Conclusion: The AAC intervention utilizing VSD could improve the functional communication ability of CCN of all ages.
