중도중복장애 학생의 미래 진로 배치에 대한 어머니 인식

Mothers’ Perceptions on Future Career Placements for Students with Severe and Multiple Disabilities

연구목적: 본 연구는 중도중복장애 학생의 어머니가 중도중복장애 학생의 미래 계획 및 진로 배치를 어떻게 인식하고 있는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 본 연구를 위해 중도중복장애 학생 어머니 3명이 참여하였으며, 어머니들을 연구 참여자로 하여 질적 면담을 수행하였다. 연구결과: 범주화 결과 다음과 같은 결과가 도출되었다. 첫째, 본 연구에 참여한 어머니들은 자녀가 가진 장애의 심각성으로 인해 취업은 고려하지 않고 있었다. 둘째, 어머니들은 자녀들이 고등학교 졸업 이후에 시간을 보낼 수 있는 공간이 필요하였고, 자녀들이 고등학교 졸업 이후에도 학교처럼 교육을 받을 수 있는 평생교육기관의 필요성을 언급하였다. 셋째, 어머니들은 현실적 방법으로 자녀의 주간 보호를 담당해줄 주간보호센터에 보낼 생각을 하고 있었다. 넷째, 어머니들은 자신들이 스스로 자녀의 미래를 개척하기 위해 다른 부모들과 협력하여 자녀가 고등학교 졸업 이후 시간을 보낼 수 있는 기관이나 시설을 설립하기 위한 준비들을 하고 있었다. 마지막으로, 어머니들은 처음부터 취업은 생각지도 않는다고 하였지만, 만약 가능한 상황이 된다면, 자녀들이 취업을 해서 사회의 일원으로 살아가기를 기대하는 마음을 가지고 있었다. 결론: 본 연구에서는 중도중복장애 학생의 특성에 적합한 미래 계획과 진로 배치가 이루어질 수 있도록 중도중복장애 학생과 가족의 행복감을 높일 수 있는 미래 배치, 장애 특성에 적합한 진로·직업교육을 위한 제반 여건의 확보, 그리고 중도중복장애인을 위한 평생교육에 대한 관심과 프로그램 마련이 제안되었다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine how the mothers of students with severe and multiple disabilities perceive of the future plans and career placements of students with severe and multiple disabilities. Method: For this study, three mothers of students with severe and multiple disabilities participated, and qualitative interviews were conducted with the mothers. Results: The results of the study were as follows. First, the mothers did not consider employment due to the severity of their children's disabilities. Second, the mothers needed space for their children to spend time after high school graduation, and the mothers mentioned the need for lifelong education institutions. Third, the mothers were thinking of sending their children to daycare centers, which would be in charge of daycare for their children in a realistic way. Fourth, the mothers were preparing to establish institutions or facilities where their children could spend time after high school. Finally, the mothers shared that they didn't even think of their children getting a job in the beginning, but they also expected their children to get a job and live as members of society if possible. Conclusion: Suggestions were made to develop future career placements suitable for the characteristics of students with severe and multiple disabilities.
