Dualism vs. Sycretism: Proposals for Reconstruction of the Christian Worldview

기독교 세계관은 위기에 봉착해 있다. 위기의 원인은 세계에 대한 오도된 현실 인식과 진단에 있다. 기존의 세계관은 신앙과 삶을 분리하는 이원론이 근본 문제라고 주장한다. 하지만 이 글은 혼합주의를 지목한다. 위기의 본질은 교회가 성과 속의 잘못된 도식에 빠져 적극적인 사회 참여를 하지 않는 것이 문제가 아니라, 교회가 교회다움을 잃고 세상과 다를 바 하나 없는 정체성 상실에 있다. 이를 위해 세 가지 질문을 던진다. 기독교 세계관은 성경적인가? 현실적인가? 이론적인가? 신구약 성경을 일별하면 세상화된 하나님의 백성에 대한 비판이 가장 중요한 사안임을 알게 된다. 다음은 서구 교회사와 한국교회 역사에서 콘스탄틴주의가 문제의 원천임을 설명할 것이다. 마지막으로 이원론을 비판하는 이론가들의 주장을 뜯어보면, 실제로는 혼합주의를 문제 삼고 있음을 밝히고자 한다. 그러므로 기독교 세계관 운동은 이원론에 빠진 교회가 아니라 혼합주의에 함몰한 교회를 비판해야 하며, 존재론적 일원론과 윤리적 이원성을 추구하여야 할 것이다. 그럴 때 벼랑 끝의 세계관 운동이 재활성화될 것이고, 한국 교회 현실에 맞는 세계관 운동으로 자리매김하고, 교회 갱신과 사회변혁이라는 본래의 목표에 한 걸음 더 내디딜 수 있을 것이다.

The Christian worldview is in crisis. The cause of the crisis lies in the misguided perception and diagnosis of the world. The existing worldview argues that the dualism that separates faith and life is the fundamental problem. On the contrary, this article points to syncretism. The heart of the crisis is not that the church fails to actively participate in society because it falls into a wrong dichotomy of secular and sacred, but rather that the church lost its ecclesiastical identity and is not differentiated from the world. Three questions are to be answered to establish the cause. Is the Christian worldview biblical, realistic, or theoretical? A glance at the Old and New Testaments reveals that criticism of the secularized people of God is the most important issue. Next, I will explain that Constantinianism is the source of the problem both in Western church history and Korean church history. Finally, by examining the arguments of theorists who criticize dualism, I will clarify that they are actually questioning syncretism. Therefore, the Christian worldview movement should not criticize the church immersed in dualism, but the church immersed in syncretism, and pursue ontological monism and ethical dualism. Then the worldview movement at the edge of the brink will be revived, and it will be positioned as a worldview movement that fits the reality of the Korean church, and take a step towards original purpose, church renewal and social transformation.
