Tumors developing in the inner ear are far less common than typical vestibular schwannomas involving the internal auditory canal and the cerebellopontine angle. Intralabyrinthine schwannoma with extension into internal auditory canal and middle ear, defined as transotic schwannoma, is an extremely rare type. We report here a case of transotic schwannoma that presented with profound hearing loss and intractable vertigo, which was removed using the transotic approach.
