본 한국 정신의 가장 근원적인 밑바탕에는 여러 가지의 사상과 정신이 있으나 그중에서 한국의 신선정신을 연구하기 위해서는 우리의 독자적인 정신에서 찾아보는 것은 대단히 중요한 부분이라 할 수 있다. 신선정신의 맥을 어디에서 잡느냐 하는 것은 우리나라만의 신선정신이 있다는 확신을 가지고 우리 민족의 뿌리라고 할 수 있는 단군에서 우선 찾아야 할 것이며 풍류도, 화랑도가 토착신앙과 함께 어우러져 한국 고유의 신선정신을 나타낸다고 할 수 있다. 우리의 신선사상은 유달리 그 근간이 되는 기본 정신이 단군에서 비롯됨을 추구하기 보다는 중국의 신선사상에 가려져 중국의 도교적 관점에서 보는 신선을 떠올리기 십상이다. 한국의 신선정신에 대한 연구는 아직 미진한 분야이며 우리 민족의 근원 사상인 단군과 풍류도, 화랑에 대한 올바른 이해 없이는 한국의 독자적인 신선정신을 정립 하기는 불가능하다. 한국의 신선정신은 이런 민족 고유의 정신을 내포하여 만들어진 한국 특유의 신선 정신이 있다. 이런 신선정신은 바로 민족의 핵심적 전통사상과는 떼려야 뗄 수 없는 불가분의 관계에 놓여 있다. 이렇듯 그 내용과 성격에 있어서도 다양하게 접근 가능 하다. 이런 고유의 정신에서 우리의 신선정신의 내용을 유추해 보면 첫째로 절대 자유의 정신이 깃든 초월자로서 천인합일의 신선정신으로 볼 수 있고, 둘째는 조상숭배로서 종교적 위치의 신선으로 이어져 있고, 셋째는 화랑도로서의 수련적인 성격으로 볼 수 있으며, 전체적으로 요약하면 ‘빛’의 신선 즉 광명의 신선이다. 이런 한국의 신선정신은 오늘날 우리 민족이 파란만장한 억압의 굴레 속에서도 당당히 이 나라를 이끌어 온 초석이 될 수 있었고, 이것의 근간이 되는 단군사상, 화랑도, 풍류도는 지금 이 시대에도 우리 민족의 정체성과 뿌리로써 단단히 받쳐주고 있다.

The root of Korea's spirit has many representations, but looking for original tradition is very important to search our Sin-sun spirit. This context is held with conviction of native spirit and Korea's root nation, Dangun. The original Sin-sun spirit can be expressed with Pyungryudo, Hawrangdo and Shamanism. Sin-sun spirit pursues derivation from Dangun's basis spirit, but our Sin-sun is showed Taoism to the others behind the China's. Research about Korea's Sin-sun spirit is imperfection field as yet, in addition, it is impossible that our original spirits are put forward without true consideration of native roots-Dangun, Pyungryudo, Hawrangdo. Korea's Sin-sun spirit is inherence national thought. This is relation of essential indivisibility with the core tradition. It can access to context and property. In short, with analogical view, the first is transcendentalism-union of tremendous liberty. Second is religion stand of condolence-adoration. The last is experience with Hawrangdo. Entirely, It is light of Sin-sun. This is base volition of Korea's hard history. Besides, it is our root, and identity from now which is Dangun spirit, Hawrangdo, Pyungryudo.
