제4장 한재 이목 다부(茶賦)의 사생관에 관한 연구

본 논문은 차의 존재를 세상에 널리 알려 공동체의 구성원에게 유익함을 주고자 다서를 집필한 한재 이목 「다부」의 사생관에 관한 연구이다. 사생관은 삶과 죽음에 관한 관점을 말하며 한 사람의 생애에서 그의 삶의 방향을 결정짓는 중요한 요소이다. 사생관이 분명한 경우 어떠한 상황에도 의연함을 유지하며 죽음조차 두려워하지 않는다. 그것은 자신의 신념에 따른 행위이므로 삶과 죽음에 초연함을 보이는 것이다. 한재는 관리인 자신의 직분에 따라 상대의 지위와 관계없이 잘못된 행위를 질타하였다. 자신에게 올 수 있는 불이익과는 무관하게 일을 공명정대하게 처리하려는 그의 소신은 높이 평가하기에 충분하다. 그러한 올바름에는 어렵고 힘든 삶을 살아가는 백성에 대한 따뜻함이 담겨 있다. 따뜻하면서도 공평무사한 그의 태도에서 확고한 삶의 철학을 볼 수 있다. 남을 평가하기 위해서는 무엇보다 자신이 올바르고 남의 모범이 되어야 한다. 이러한 태도를 지켜나가는 것에 차의 역할은 지대하다고 할 수 있다. 차는 정신을 가다듬고 수행을 하는데 적합한 음료로서 한재의 삶과 함께 하고 있다. 이러한 다부 속의 사생관을 정리해보면 옳음을 위해서 목숨조차 아끼지 않는 정의에 기초한 사생관, 들째, 지식으로 그치는 것이 아니라 행으로 나타내 보이는 지덕일체의 사생관, 셋째, 마음의 깨달음을 통하여 삶과 죽음이 하나임을 알게 되는 초극적 사생관으로 나눌 수 있다. 차는 한재의 생활 속에 녹아들어 삶의 철학으로 나타나고 있다.

This essay is a study about the view on life and death in Dabu, written by Han-Jae, Yi Mok, who wrote various books to the advantage members of the community by introducing the existence of tea. The view on life and death is an important aspect that decides the path in one's life. When this view is clear, one remains calm in whichever situations, and does not even fear death. It is that they remain aloof because what they do is based on their belief. Han-Jae, as a government official, rebuked the wrong doings of people no matter what their social statuses were. His conviction to handle duties despite that he could have brought disadvantages to himself deserves to be evaluated highly. In such righteousness is a kindness for the people who carry on with tough lives. From the attitude that is kind and impartial, one can see his philosophy in life. To judge others, one has to be upright and be a model. To keep this attitude, tea ceremony can be considered to play a great role. Tea is a beverage that is appropriate to help one calm himself or herself down and practice asceticism, which shares Han-Jae's life. The views on life and death can be broken up into the view based on the justice that does not fear death for righteousness, second, view that does not just have the knowledge and virtue, but practices those, and third, view that overcomes, learning through the realization in the mind that life and death are one. Tea melts into Han-Jae's life and appears to be a philosophy of life.
