The Modern Significance of HYO and Its Implication to Family Ethics

이 연구는 효의 현대적 의의를 제고하고, 이를 통해 현대 가족윤리의 시사점을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 오늘날 한국사회는 서구문물의 유입과 산업화 및 도시화 현상으로 확대가족 붕괴와 핵가족화를 가속화시켰고, 이는 가족구조 및 가치관의 변화로 이어지면서 가족의 기능을 약화시켰다. 그러나 시대가 변한다 해도 가족이 갖는 원초적이고 본질적인 기능은 유지되어야 하며, 여기에는 가족사랑․가정윤리로 작용하는 효를 필요로 한다. 그래서 효에 대한 인식체계 전환과 시대에 맞는 효 개념의 적용이 요구된다. 이런 점에서 가족의 기능을 효와 연계하여 가족윤리 확립방안을 다음과 같이 제안하였다. 첫째, 출산 및 보육을 가족윤리와 연계하였다. 저출산 극복과 건강한 보육은 국가의 장래가 걸린 문제이기 때문이다. 둘째, 가정의 인성교육 내실화와 가족윤리를 연계하였다. 인성교육은 가정교육․학교교육․사회교육이 통합적이면서 전생애적으로 이루어지며 인성의 대부분이 가정에서 어린 시절에 형성된다는 점에서다. 셋째, 노부모 부양 및 고령사회 문제를 가족윤리와 연계하였다. 자녀는 부모의 은혜에 보답해야할 책임이 있고, 사람은 누구나 늙기 마련이라는 점에서 경로효친 정신이 필요하기 때문이다. 지금 우리는 4차산업혁명시대를 살아가고 있다. 4차산업은 인간을 중심으로 현실(Off-line)과 가상(On-line)세계를 융합함으로써 인간의 삶을 행복하게 하는데 목적이 있다. 그리고 이는 결국 사람이 주도하게 된다는 점에서 높은 윤리성이 요구되고 있으며, 그 윤리성은 가족윤리가 시발이다. 그리고 가족윤리는 효의 기반 위에서 확립되어야 한다.

This study aims to show the way of improving the modern meaning ofHYO and to draw implications of modern family ethics through it. Today,Korean society has accelerated the collapse of extended family and thetransformation of nuclear family by the influx of western culture,industrialization and urbanization. This has led to changes in familystructure and values and weakened the function of family. However, evenif the age changes, the basic and essential functions of a family must bemaintained, which requires the HYO that acts as a family love and familyethics. Therefore, it is necessary to change the perception system of Hyoand to apply the appropriate concept for this day and age. In this regard,the following suggestions were made to establish family ethics inconnection with the functions of the family and HYO. First, we linkedchildbirth and childcare with family ethics. Overcoming low fertility ratesand healthy childcare is an issue that the country is facing for the future.Second, we linked family ethics with improvement of personality educationvia the family because personality education is integrated in whole life byhome education, school education and social education. Also most ofpersonality is formed in childhood at home. Third, we linked the issue ofsupport of elderly parents and aging society with family ethics. Becausechildren have a responsibility to repay the grace of their parents and aseveryone gets old, the spirit of pathos to elder people is necessary. Nowwe are living in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. The fourthindustry is aimed at happiness of human life by fusing off-line andon-line world around human being. In the end, people demand a high levelof ethics in that they will lead this. Family ethics is the first step. Andfamily ethics should be established on the basis of filial piety.
