매 에피소드 새로운 게스트 캐릭터가 등장하는 애니메이션 시리즈의 캐릭터 성격 설정과 사용전략 바다

Character Personality and Usage Strategies for the Animated Series Featuring New Guest Characters in Each Episode: Based on the Analysis of “The Octonauts” and “Mom Katuri”

본 연구에서는 비슷한 형식의 애니메이션 <바다 탐험대 옥토넛>과 <엄마 까투리>에 나오는 캐릭터들의 성격을 분석하여 캐릭터들을 어떻게 설정하고 사용하고 있는지를 알아보았다. 분석 도구로는 에니어그램을 사용하였으며, 두 작품의 캐릭터들을 메인, 보조, 게스트 캐릭터의 범주로 나눈 후, 에니어그램의 9가지 유형에 대입하여 성격유형을 도출하고, 각 작품이 어떻게 캐릭터들을 사용하고 있는지를 살펴보고 사용전략을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 두 작품 모두 다수의 캐릭터를 메인 캐릭터로 설정하였고 개성있는 성격을 부여하였으며, 극의 진행에서 중요한 역할로 사용하고 있었다. <바다 탐험대 옥토넛>은여러 보조 캐릭터들에 다양한 성격을 설정하여 활발히 사용하는 데에 반해 게스트 캐릭터들은 개성 없이 보조적으로 활용하고 있었고, <엄마 까투리>는 보조 캐릭터의 설정과 활용이 극히 적으나 게스트캐릭터들에 다양한 개성과 성격을 부여하여 적극적으로 사용한 점 등이 차이로 나타났다.

In this study, we analyzed the characteristics of the characters in similar types of animations <The Octonauts> and <Mom Katuri> to find out how they are set and used. As an analysis tool, Enneagram was used, and after dividing the characters of the two works into main, auxiliary, and guest characters, personality types were derived by substituting them into nine types of Enneagram, how each work uses the characters, and the usage strategy was analyzed. As a result of the analysis, a number of characters were set as the main characters in both works, and a unique personality was given, and they were used as an important role in the progress of the play. While <The Octonauts> was actively used by setting various personalities for various auxiliary characters, guest characters were used as auxiliary characters without individuality, and <Mom Katuri> was very small in setting and using auxiliary characters, but it was found that guest characters were actively used by giving them various personalities.
