간호대학생의 외모 만족도와 우울 관계에서 자아존중감 및 스트레스의 매개효과

The Mediating Effect of Self-esteem and Stress between Appearance Satisfaction and Depression on Nursing Students

목적 본 연구는 간호대학생의 외모 만족도, 우울, 자아존중감 및 스트레스 간의 관계를 살펴보고, 외모 만족도와 우울의 관계에서 자아존중감 및 스트레스의 매개효과를 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 방법 본 연구는 G시 소재의 일개대학 간호학과에 재학 중인 1학년에서 4학년 학생 179명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 자료분석은 대상자의 일반적 특성, 외모 만족도, 우울, 자아존중감, 스트레스는 t-test, One-way ANOVA, 피어슨 상관관계, SPSS PROCESS Macro 모델 6를 활용하여 매개효과를 분석하였다. 결과 연구결과 간호대학생의 외모 만족도, 우울, 자아존중감 및 스트레스의 상관관계에서 외모 만족도와 우울과 스트레스는 역 상관관계, 자아존중감은 외모만족도와 순 상관관계를 나타냈다. 간호대학생의 외모 만족도와 우울의 관계에서 자아존중감과 스트레스의 매개효과를 분석한 결과, 스트레스는 완전매개효과를 나타냈었으나, 자아존중감은 매개효과가 없었다. 외모 만족도과 우울의 관계에서 자아존중감과 스트레스의 이중매개효과 검증 결과, 외모 만족도외모 만족도와 우울 관계에서 자아존중감과 스트레스는 이중매개효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 간호대학생이 인지하고 있는 우울을 감소시키기 위해서 자신의 외모에 대한 긍정적인 신체상을 갖도록 하는 내용과 간호대학생의 우울을 심리적으로 감소시킬 수 있는 다양한 프로그램을 통한 중재방안을 모색해야 할 것이다.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between appearance satisfaction, depression, self-esteem, and stress of nursing college students, and to verify the mediating effect of self-esteem and stress in the relationship between appearance satisfaction and depression. Methods The purposes of this study were to a survey of 179 first- to fourth-grade students enrolled in the nursing department of one university in G City. Data analysis analyzed the mediating effect using the subjects' general characteristics, appearance satisfaction, depression, self-esteem, and stress, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and SPSS PROCESS macro model 6. Results As a result of the study, in the correlation between appearance satisfaction, depression, self-esteem, and stress of nursing college students, appearance satisfaction and depression and stress showed an inverse correlation, and self-esteem showed a net correlation with appearance satisfaction. As a result of analyzing the mediating effect of self-esteem and stress in the relationship between appearance satisfaction and depression of nursing college students, stress showed a complete mediating effect, but self-esteem had no mediating effect. As a result of verifying the double mediating effect of self-esteem and stress in the relationship between appearance satisfaction and depression, it was found that self-esteem and stress had no double mediating effect in the relationship between appearance satisfaction and depression. Conclusions In order to reduce the depression perceived by nursing students, it is necessary to find an intervention method through various programs that can reduce the depression of nursing students psychologically and content to have a positive physical image of their appearance.
