A Study on the Approach to Art Museum Education in People with Mild Autism Spectrum Disabilities

This study analyzes the accessibility and effective direction of art museum education for people with mild autism spectrum disabilities as follows. First, we study the possibility of self-expression, family communication, and social improvement among people with autism spectrum disabilities in art museum education participation. Second, families of the disabled participate in art museum activities to study the effectiveness of expanding art experiences, psychological healing, and mental recovery. Third, in art museum education, we propose to implement an inclusive role through the improvement of sociality, physical sensory function recovery, and talent expression of people with mild autism spectrum disabilities. The conclusions of this study are as follows: First, art museum education for people with mild autism spectrum disabilities should be operated as a class that attempts experiential activities and various exploration. Second, by expanding the family participation of the disabled, it is necessary to overcome burnout and expand opportunities for psychological healing, recovery, and art enjoyment. Third, it should be expanded to all citizens through the development and operation of art museum education where all citizens can participate together in a barrier-free space.
