광고의 비판적 수용을 위한 학습 활동 구안

Construction of Learning Activity for Critical Acceptance of Advertisements: Based on Multimodal Discourse Analysis

이 연구는 복합양식 담화분석을 바탕으로 광고의 비판적 수용에 관한 교육 방안을 마련하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 먼저 광고의 교육 내용 실현 양상을 <언어와 매체> 교과서에서 확인하였다. 광고는 주로 매체 언어의 창의적 표현을 위해 다루고 있었다. 광고가 당대 사회문화적 현상을 반영하고 있는바, 매체 자료의 비판적 수용을 위해 광고가 적용되어야 한다. 다음으로 복합양식 담화분석의 분석 층위와 요소를 파악하여 매체 자료의 비판적 수용 과정을 구체화하고자 하였다. 복합양식 담화분석은 복합양식 텍스트의 언어와 기호 자원, 복합양식 텍스트의 생산과 유통 및 소비의 소통 과정, 그리고 복합양식 텍스트가 반영하고 (재)생산하는 사회문화적 의미를 살피고자 한다. 끝으로 복합양식 담화분석의 분석 요소를 광고로 초점화하고, 광고의 비판적 수용에 관한 학습 활동을 제안하였다. 기존 <언어와 매체>의 비판적 수용 관련 학습 활동을 복합양식 담화분석의 분석 요소에 따라 재구성하여, 광고의 비판적 수용 활동의 수행성을 높이고자 하였다.

The purpose of this study is to construct a learning activity for critical acceptance of advertisements based on multimodal discourse analysis (MDA), by looking into the aspect of realization of the educational contents of advertisements in “Language and Media” textbooks. Advertisements are mostly presented for creative expression of media language. As advertisements reflect the current socio-cultural phenomena, they need to be applied for critical acceptance of media materials. In addition, this study discerns the analysis layers and elements of MDA, and gives shape to the process of media materials’ critical acceptance. MDA intends to analyze the language and semiotic resources of multimodal texts, the process of production, contribution, and consumption of multimodal texts, and the socio-cultural meaning reflected or (re)produced by multimodal texts. Lastly, this study makes the analysis elements of MDA to focus on advertisements, and suggests a learning activity for their critical acceptance. The current learning activity of critical acceptance in Language and Media is reconstructed by MDA’s elements in an attempt to enhance performativity of the advertisements’ critical acceptance activity.
