여행경력 수준에 따른 행동양식의 변화

Variations of Traveller’s Behavioral Modes accompanied by Travel Career Level : An Application of Fun-Evolving Model

본 연구는 가치론의 입장에서 개발된 재미진화모형(고동우, 2002)을 적용하여 여행경력의 현상을 이해하고자 하였다. 여행경력의 변수를 객관적 여행경력지수(숙박여행누적빈도, 방문국가수, 1년간 숙박여행빈도 등 3개 항목), 주관적 여행경력지수(여행 지속성, 여행 중요성, 여행경력의 크기, 여행경력의 전문성 등 4개 항목)를 측정하였고, 나아가 이들 항목을 평균한 객관적 여행경력지수, 주관적 여행경력지수, 여행경력 표준화통합지수 등 3 종류 통합지수를 도출하여 설정하였다. 편의표집방식으로 276명의 일반인 자료를 수집하였다. 재미진화모형이 제안하는 4가지 행동양식을 측정한 후 군집분석을 통해 저관여 군집, 보기중심 군집, 가지기중심 군집, 하기중심 군집, 되기중심 군집 등 5유형의 여행자 집단을 분류한 다음, 상기한 10개 여행경력지수가 각 하위 집단간 어떻게 다른지를 추적하였다. 순서형 로지스틱회귀분석과 분산분석 결과는 거의 모든 여행경력 지수가 재미추구행동양식의 단계 변화를 유의하게 반영하는 일관성을 보였다. 이는 경력이 누적될수록 즐거움을 추구하는 행동양식 또한 질적으로 변화한다는 재미진화모형의 논리가 타당하다는 사실을 보여준다. 결론에서는 여행경력을 중심으로 재미진화모형의 이론적 타당도와 활용가능성을 논의하였고, 연구방법상의 한계와 향후 연구 방향을 제시하였다.

This study was performed to identify the validity of the Fun-Evolving Model (Ko, 2002), rooted in value theory, by applying it to changing patterns of travelers’ behavioral modes on their travel career level. For travel career indexes, seven items for cumulative travel experience were measured into three objective and four subjective questions. Additionally, another three variables were set to assess the integrant travel career level. As the corresponding variable to predict the travel career indexes, five clusters were calculated from the measured fun-seeking behavioral modes reflecting the four stages (i.e., seeing, having, doing, and being modes). The data of 276 Korean samples who had been distributed into five subgroups by a K-mean cluster analysis, were analyzed into ordered logistic regression and one-way ANOVA. The results showed that three of the seven items, as well as the three integrant indexes on travel career level, were significant to predict the fun-evolving stages. All 10 career indexes were varied significantly and congruently across the five types of fun-seeking behavioral modes. This means that the Fun-Evolving Model is valid to explain the travel career phenomenon.
