국내 탈북대학생의 영어 학습 연구에 관한 체계적 문헌고찰

A Systematic Review of English Learning for North Korean College Students in South Korea

본 연구의 목적은 국내 탈북대학생을 대상으로 하는 영어 학습에 대한 문헌을 체계적으로 분석하여 관련 연구의 동향과 새로운 방향을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 체계적 문헌고찰의 연구방법으로 국내 출간문헌을 검색하여 최종적으로 9개 문헌을 추출하였다. 연구 결과를 보면, 탈북대학생의 영어 학습 관련연구는 2013년-2019년까지 주로 발표되었다. 탈북대학생에게 영어 학습은 대학의 학업 성취 및 적응에영향을 미치므로 향후 탈북대학생의 영어 학습에 관한 다양한 연구가 수행되어야 할 필요가 있다. 또한, 탈북대학생을 일컫는 용어가 한국어와 영어에서 표준화되지 않고 여러 가지 형태로 사용되고 있으며, 탈북대학생의 영어 학습에 관한 문헌은 사회과학의 교육학 분야에서 주로 출간되었고, 연구 방법으로는 혼합연구가 사용되는 경우가 상대적으로 많았다. 연구주제로는 영어 학습의 어려움, 학습의 효과성 요인, 영어 학습 인식 등이 다루어진 것으로 나타났다. 따라서, 향후에는 탈북대학생의 특수성을 고려한 영어 학습 및 전공과목과 연계된 다양한 영어 학습 프로그램의 개발과 효과성을 검증하는 연구가수행되어야 할 것이다.

The study aims to explore the research trends and new directions for English learning for North Korean college students in South Korea. It examines domestic research studies, and nine studies are finally extracted based on the systematic review approach. The results have shown that the literature on this issue was published from 2013 to 2019. English learning for North Korean college students is related to their academic achievement, so it is important to conduct various empirical studies on the issue. The terms referring to North Korean college students are not standardized in both Korean and English. Also, the studies on the issue have been mainly published in the educational field of social science. The research topics include the difficulties of English learning and some factors related to their English learning. Thus, it is necessary to develop customized English programs for North Korean college students, which consider their sociocultural backgrounds and college majors.
