From the perspective of cultural capital theory this study discusses recent prosperity of cultural tourism. Here cultural tourism defined as culturally motivated tourism, a succession to Grand tour during the 17th to 18th century in Europe. Postmodernism theorists say that cultural difference among classes tends to disappear as diversification of consumption goods has evolved and the individuation of human being has deepened. This theory also argue that changes from mass tourism to new tourism practice such as cultural tourism, eco-tourism, and green tourism etc. reflect of diversification of tourists' taste and goods. Bourdieu and the cultural capital theory argue that cultural difference across classes still persists, explaining that prosperity of cultural tourism can be explained the growth of new middle class and especially new cultural intermediaries.
