This study discusses the travel cost method(ITCM) related to data characteristics such as count and on-site survey data. In this paper, several econometric models were estimated and compared using on-site survey data from Hyo-Seok Cultural Festival in Pyeongchang county. In order to identify any bias stemming from the characteristics of the data, the paper uses Poisson model, truncated Poisson model which accounts for the truncated nature of the data, and endogenously stratified Poisson model which solves the endogenous stratification problem resulting from the over-sampling of avid users. The empirical application shows that the truncated Poisson and endogenously stratified Poisson models yield better goodness-of-fit and parameter estimations compared with the standard Poisson model. Particularly, the endogenously stratified Poisson model performs relatively better than the truncated Poisson.
