Effect of Korean Medicine Complex Therapy on a Patient with Facial Palsy after Facelift. Two Case Reports

Two cases of concurrent facial paralysis after facelift were reported. One case was a 64-year-old woman with facial paralysis of the left middle and lower face. After about 3 months of acupuncture, electroacupuncture, pharmacopuncture and physical therapy, motor and sensory abnormalities improved. One case was a 41-year-old woman who visited the hospital with motor dysfunction and paresthesia on the left zygomatic and buccal branch. After 2 weeks of treatment, she discontinued her patient visit without significant improvement. In real world, cosmetic procedures are widely practiced. Although this study is only a case report of two cases, one of the significances of this report is that these cosmetic procedures should be considered while identifying the cause of facial paralysis.
