In this study, the several materials such as are wire cutted as the flow pressure is changed. STD11, SM45C, Stainless steel(STS304), Cu(99.95%) and Al(6061) the materials. And the cutting speed and surface roughness of the specimen is varied are measured. For each materials water flow pressure from 10kgf/cm2 to 25kgf/cm2. From experiments we get the following conclusions by 5kgf/cm2 cutting speed and surface roughness according to water flow pressure. As the water flow pressure, the surface roughness and cutting speed are als increased. However, the variation of surface roughness and cutting speed are negligible. Especially Al(6061) and graphite shows larger cutting speed increase than steel. To achieve optimal wire cutting conditions, higher fluid pressure condition is desirable if we could limit other processing parameters under resonable values.
