In recent manufacturing process, the importance of 3D free-formed surface machining has been increasing using ball end mill in CNC High-Speed Machining. The geometrical accuracy of the 3D workpiece should be effected by the cutting characteristics. In this study, a hemispherical test piece was used as a 3D workpiece using φ6 mm ball end mill according to vary processing method of finish cut. The accuracy of processing method in hemisphere was considered by surface roughness. The surface roughness were measured using the contact type surface roughness measuring device. The results of measurement were compared with the one of vary processing method. As a result, considering to life of cutting tool and productivity in the manufacturing field, when the angle of incidence of tool is greater than 60 degree, the method of a contour finish cut is better. When the angle of incidence of tool is less than 60 degree, the method of a scan finish cut is better.
