칼릴라와 딤나와 금수회의록 비교연구

A Comparative Study on Kalīlah wa Dimnah and Kum soo hoi eui rok

본 연구는 아랍의 동물우화인 칼릴라와 딤나와 한국 근대동물우화소설인 금수회의록을 교훈과 주제, 서술양식과 문체, 종교사상과 윤리의 측면에서 비교 고찰한다. 칼릴라와 딤나는 현실의 삶에서 필요한 실용적 윤리들을 흥미롭게 다루며 정치적 풍자를 우회적이지만 강력하게 표현했다. 틀이야기 서사양식을 이용한 대화체로 불교 사상과 이슬람교 사상이 내재된 다양한 교훈과 철학을 등장동물들의 언행과 사건을 중심으로 표현한다. 금수회의록은 인간 본성의 타락상을 지적하면서 바르게 살아갈 것을 강조하는 원칙론적인 교훈 및 당대 사회상에 대한 비난과 풍자를 직접적이고 공격적으로 나타낸다. 틀이야기 서사양식을 이용한 연설체로 인간의 악행과 동물의 선행을 대조적으로 표현하며, 동물의 생태적 특성에 기초한 세밀한 묘사로 호소력을 얻는다. 유교 사상과 기독교 사상이 적극적으로 표면화되어 있다.

This is a comparative study on Arab animal fable, Kalīlah wa Dimnah and a Korean modern animal fable story, Kum soo hoi eui rok in the fields of teachings and satire, narrative device and style, religious thoughts and ethics. Kalīlah wa Dimnah shows diverse ethical teachings and indirect political critiques using dialogue style in narrative device of frame story and harmonizes the Buddhist thoughts and Islamic thoughts in speeches and behaviors of animal characters and their events. Kum soo hoi eui rok indicates the depraved human natures in rapid social reformation period and insists recover of it using speech style in narrative device of frame story and suggests solution of the problems through Confucian ideas and Christian thoughts.
