실용통계와 대학 기초통계학과의 수직적 연계성에 관한 연구

A Study on Vertical Articulation between Practical Statistics and Elementary Statistics of University

목적 본 연구의 목적은 진로 선택 교과목인 실용통계와 대학 기초통계학과의 수직적 연계성 연구를 진행하여 진로 선택 교과목으로써 실용통계의 성공적인 도입과 함께 통계 관련 진로 교과의 신설에 의미 있는 시사점을 제공하고자 한다. 방법 실용통계와 대학 기초통계학의 수직적 연계성 연구를 시행하였다. 각 기초통계학 교재의 다른 범위를 선정된 3종의 교재와 실용통계의 학습 내용 또는 공통범위를 비교하여 연구 진행 목차를 재설정하고 본문 내용을 중심으로 송순희 등(1991)의 연계성 준거 모형을 바탕으로 [반복], [발전], [격차] 3가지로 분류하였다. 결과 연계성 연구를 진행한 결과, 분석한 대학 기초통계학의 내용에 반복과 격차의 비율이 발전의 비율에 비해 상대적으로 높았다. 대학 기초통계학의 후반부에 해당되는 ‘변수 사이의 관계’와 ‘통계적 추정과 검정’의 영역에서 [격차]가 두드러지게 나타나고 있었다. 결론 실용통계와 대학 기초통계학 내용의 연계성 측면에서 격차 비율이 발전의 비율보다 상대적으로 높아 대학에 진학하여 기초통계학을 학습하는 학생들에게 어려움을 초래할 수 있으며 이러한 격차를 줄이기 위해 보충학습자료나 새로운 통계 관련 진로 교과목이 개발될 필요가 있다.

Objectives The purposes of this study are to study vertical articulation between practical statistics and elementary statistics of the University and to provide the implication of development of subjects for statistics. Methods The vertical articulation between practical statistics and elementary statistics of university are studied based on Song et. al(1991)’s criterion such as repetition, development and gap. Results As a result of studying vertical articulation, the ratios of repetition and gap are relatively higher than that of development. Conclusions The fact the ratio of gap is relatively higher than that of development makes students difficult to study statistics in university. To close the gap between high school and university education, supplementary learning materials or new statistics-related courses need to be developed.
