사회복지학 전공 대학생을 위한 죽음 관련 교과목 고찰

A Study on Death-related Subjects for College Students Majoring in Social Work

본 연구는 사회복지학 전공 대학생에게 죽음 관련 교과목을 정규 교과로 개설하여 실시하고 있는 국내외 사례를 분석하고 고찰함으로써 사회복지학 전공 대학생들의 죽음 관련 사회복지 실천역량을 강화할 수 있는 교과목 개발을 위한 기초자료로 활용하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 국내외 3개 대학의 교과목 교육 내용과 교육 방법을 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 각 대학에서는 교육 내용을 개인적 차원의 전문가적 차원으로 구분하여 학생들이 죽음과 관련된 지식, 기술, 태도를 습득하고 유능감을 향상할 수 있도록 돕고 있다. 둘째, 각 대학에서는 교육 내용이 효과적으로 전달될 수 있도록 강의, 토론, 특강, 활동 등의 다양한 교육 방법을 활용하고 있다. 본 연구는 사회복지학을 전공하는 학생들이 죽음과 관련된 지식을 습득하고 개입기술을 익혀 사회복지 실천역량을 강화할 수 있는 교과목 개발을 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있다는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있으며, 연구 결과를 바탕으로 향후 연구과제를 제안하였다.

This study reviewed death-related subjects for college students majoring in social work to use as basic data for developing subjects that can strengthen the death-related practice capabilities of students. The curriculum contents and teaching methods of subjects at three colleges were analyzed. The results of the study are as follows. First, each college divides curriculum contents into an individual level and expert level to help students acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to death and improve their ability. Second, each college uses various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, special lectures, and activities so that the curriculum contents can be effectively delivered. This study is meaningful in that it can be used as basic data for developing subjects that students majoring in social work can get death-related knowledge, learn intervention skills, and strengthen their social work practice capabilities. Based on the research results, future research tasks were proposed.
