청소년의 열등감, 지연행동과 진로미결정의 관계에 사회적 지지와 자기격려가 미치는 영향

The Effects of Social Support and Self- Encouragement on the Relationship between Inferiority Complexes in Adolescents, Procrastination, and Career Indecision

본 연구는 청소년의 열등감, 지연행동과 진로미결정의 관계에서 사회적 지지와 자기격려가 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 우선 청소년의 열등감과 진로미결정의 관계에서 지연행동의 매개효과를 확인하고, 이 과정에서 사회적 지지와 자기격려의 조절효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기지역의 3개 고등학교에 재학 중인 고등학생 585명을 대상으로 열등감, 지연행동, 진로미결정, 사회적 지지와 자기격려를 측정하여 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 열등감과 지연행동의 영향이 높을수록 진로미결정 수준이 높아졌지만, 사회적 지지와 자기격려의 영향이 많을수록 진로미결정 수준은 낮아졌다. 둘째, 열등감과 진로미결정의 관계에서 지연행동은 매개효과를 보였다. 셋째, 사회적 지지와 자기격려는 열등감과 진로미결정의 관계에 미치는 지연행동의 매개효과를 조절하였다. 이러한 결과에 기초하여 열등감과 지연행동으로 인해 진로선택의 어려움을 경험하는 청소년에게 사회적 지지와 자기격려의 필요성을 제기하고, 연구의 한계와 후속연구의 필요성을 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of social support and self-encouragement on adolescent inferiority complexes, procrastination, and career indecision. To that end, the mediating effect of procrastination and the moderating effect of social support and self-encouragementon on the relationship between feelings of inferiority and career indecision were examined. Regression analysis was performed on data collected from 585 students at three high schools in Gyeonggi Province on social support, self-encouragement, feelings of inferiority, procrastination, and career indecision. The results of this study are as follows. First, inferiority complexes and procrastination were positively correlated with career indecision, but social support and self-encouragement were negatively correlated with career indecision. Second, procrastination showed a mediating effect on the relationship between inferiority and career indecision. Third, social support and self-encouragement moderated the mediating effects of procrastination on inferiority and career indecision. Such results present the necessity of social support and self-encouragement for adolescents experiencing career indecision due to procrastination and feelings of inferiority. Subsequent research is recommended to expand upon current findings and their limitations.
