다운증후군 아동의 감각통합 및 물체 조작 활동이 자세조절 및 눈-손 협응에 미치는 영향

Effects of Sensory Integration and Manipulation Activities on Postural Control and Eye-Hand Coordination in Children With Down Syndrome

목적: 본 연구는 감각통합과 물체 조작 활동이 다운증후군 아동의 눈-손 협응 및 자세조절에 미치는 효과에 대해알아보고자 한다. 방법: 연구 대상자는 다운증후군으로 진단받고, 전반적인 발달에 지연을 보이는 6세 아동이다. 중재 방법으로는 감각통합 및 물체조작활동 프로토콜을 주 1회 60분씩 총10회기 실시하였다. 측정 방법으로는 아동의 운동능력을 측정하기 위해 Bruninks- Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency-2 (BOT-2) 단축형을 사용하였고, 협응 능력을 평가하기 위해Grooved pegboard를 사용하였으며, 감각처리능력을 평가하기 위해 감각프로파일 검사(Sensory Profile)을 사용하였다. 결과: 운동능력 평가에서는 사전 평가에서는 모든 항목에서 평가 불능으로 0점을 받았으나, 종이접기 항목에서1점, 선 따라 걷기 항목에서 1점을 획득하는 변화를 보여 총점2점이 향상되었다. 협응능력 평가에서는 사전평가에 비해왼손 수행 시 10분 안에 10개의 핀을 다 넣을 수 있었고, 오른손 수행 시 5분 16초로 사전평가때 보다 향상되었다. 감각처리능력 평가에서는 사전 평가에 비해 사후평가에서는 점수가 전체적으로 낮아진 결과가 나타났다. 결론: 다운증후군 아동에게 전정 감각 중심 감각통합과물체조작활동을 적용하여 눈-손 협응 및 자세조절에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것을 확인하였다.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of sensory integration and manipulation activities on eye-hand coordination and postural control in children with Down syndrome. The study subjects were 6-year-old children who were diagnosed with Down syndrome and showed overall developmental delays. As an intervention, sensory integration and manipulation activity protocols were implemented in a total of 10 sessions of 60 min once a week. A shortened version of the Bruninks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency-2 (BOT-2) was used to measure children's motor abilities, a grooved pegboard was used to evaluate coordination abilities, and sensory processing abilities were evaluated using a Sensory Profile. For motor ability, 0 points were received for all items in the pre-assessment, but 1 point was obtained in the origami item and 1 point in the walking along the line item, showing a change of 2 points in the total score. In terms of coordination ability, the subject was able to place all 10 pins in 10 min for the left hand and 5 min 16 s for the right hand, which improved compared to the pre-evaluation. In sensory processing, the overall score was lower in the post-evaluation than in the pre-evaluation. By applying sensory integration and manipulation activities to children with Down syndrome, our findings suggest that they had a positive effect on eye-hand coordination and postural control.
