This study examined the efficiency of the rapid determination method of Log10 50% Lethal Doses(LD50) or 50% Infective Doses(ID50) based on the comparison of virulence among the Salmonella Enteritidis(SE) Bacteriophage type(PT) isolates. Kuehne’s method, which was not only simple and rapid but also ethical or animal welfare, was tested. This method administered a 10-fold serial dilutions of bacteria to six animals per dilution. Above all, the present method was required more less laboratory animals for determination of LD50/ID50 results than that of traditional ones and this merit was considered more suitable on the present clinical laboratory situations, because of enforcement of the national law for the animal welfare. According to the chicken challenge experiment results based on the Kuehne’s method, SEPT 1 & 4 isolates were even more virulent than that of SEPT 6A and this results was the same as those of divers other experiments. As a results, Kuehne’s method was found as a very rapid and simple for determination of Log10 LD50/ID50.
