Urbanization around the world is rapidly progressing, and facilities in public spaces are also more closely related to cities. Today, humans live in a time of high technology. Data technology, IoT technology, smart technology, and other new technologies are constantly changing the way cities look. The concept of smart city is constantly being discussed, and the development of science and technology provides citizens with a more convenient and pleasant living environment. New technologies are stimulating urban residents to interact constantly, and in this era, the development of public spaces and public space facilities in cities is becoming more interesting and urban homework. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of smart urban public space facilities through a study on the case of excellent smart city public space facilities in the world. These characteristics are sustainable development characteristics, IoT technology characteristics, multifunctional integration characteristics, and convenience characteristics. Since the current digital technology has a mutual symbiotic relationship with human society, it is thought that urban public space facilities will contribute greatly to the development of cities. By incorporating smart technology into these facilities, it will bring more convenience and comfort to urban life and play a major role in the sustainable development of the city. The results of this study are expected to help the creative design of urban public space facilities in the future and contribute to the development of urban spatial environment and urban construction.
