장애아전문어린이집 원장의 영유아중심·놀이중심 보육과정 운영경험에 대한 내러티브 탐구

A Narrative Inquiry on the Experience of Implementing Child-and-Play-Centered Care by the Director of Specialized Daycare Centers for Young Children with Disabilities

연구목적: 본 연구는 영유아중심, 놀이중심의 보육과정을 실천한 장애아전문어린이집 원장들의 운영경험을 통해 실현가능성과 적용방안에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 2019년 12월부터 2022년 2월까지 약 15개월간 2명의 장애아전문어린이집 원장을 대상으로 개별면담, 회의록, 메모, 개인 저널을 분석한 내러티브 탐구를 실시하였다. 연구결과: 연구참여자들의 내러티브 자료들을 분석한 결과 일곱 개의 주제가 도출되었다. 첫째, 놀이 중심의 벽에 마주하다, 둘째, 놀이지원을 위한 고민을 담다, 셋째, 장애영유아의 놀이에서 놀이권을 찾다, 넷째, 실현가능성을 향해 시작하다, 다섯째, 교사들의 변화를 이끌어내다, 여섯째, 놀이를 다시 바라보다, 일곱째, 모두 행복함을 찾다. 결론: 장애아전문어린이집 원장들의 경험을 통해 장애영유아에게도 영유아중심·놀이중심의 보육과정 적용의 실현가능성을 살펴볼 수 있었으며, 이를 위해서는 주의 깊은 관찰과 원장-교사와의 영유아중심·놀이중심의 보육운영을 위한 협력이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 추후 통합환경에서 장애영유아를 위한 영유아중심·놀이중심의 보육과정을 실천하고 있는 연구의 필요성이 시사된다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the feasibility and application methods the operational experiences of directors of specialized daycare centers for young children with disabilities who practiced child-and-play-centered curriculum. Method: A narrative inquiry was conducted on two directors of specialized daycare centers for young children with disabilities for about 15 months from December, 2019 to February, 2022 by analyzing individual interviews, meeting minutes, memos, and personal journals. Results: The following seven themes were derived from analysis of the subjects' narrative data: (1) facing the wall of the play-centered curriculum; (2) concerns for play support; (3) finding the right of play in the activities of children with disabilities; (4) a start towards feasibility; (5) inducing changes in teachers; (6) revisiting play; and (7) achieving happiness for all. Conclusion: Through the experience of the directors of specialized daycare centers for young children with disabilities, it was possible to examine the feasibility of applying the child-and-play-centered curriculum to children with disabilities. To this end, it was found that careful observation of and cooperation with the director-teacher for the application child-and-play-centered curriculum were necessary. In the future, the need for research that implements the child-and-play-centered curriculum for children with disabilities in inclusive daycare centers is suggested.
