Analysis of Teachers' Needs for the Organization of the 2022 Revised Elementary Korean Textbook: Based on a critical review of the 2015 revised elementary Korean textbook

목적: 본 연구는 2022 개정 초등 국어 교과서 구성의 방향을 모색하기 위하여 교과서에 대한 교사의 요구를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 방법: 먼저 2022 개정 교육과정의 특징과 미래 사회에 적합한 국어과 교육의 방향, 교과서 구성에 관한 연구 결과를 탐색하였다. 이를 바탕으로 2015 개정 교과서에 대한 교사들의 비판적 검토 내용을 인터뷰의 방법으로 수집함으로써 2022 개정 교과서에 대한 교사들의 요구를 분석하였다. 결과: 교사들은 전체적인 구성 수준에서는 학습량 감축, 학생의 삶을 고려한 단윈 배치, 내용 교과와의 연계성 고려를, 단원 수준에서는 독서 단원과 연극 단원 수업을 위한 친절한 안내, 문장 관련 단원의 추가, 단원 내 차시 학습 목표의 자연스러운 배치를, 활동 수준에서는 자기 주도성 신장이 가능한 단원 학습 계획 세우기 마련, 질문 생성 활동을 위한 안내 자료 수록, ‘생활 속으로’ 활동의 실효성 고려, 어휘력 신장을 위한 활동의 변화를 요구하였다. 결론: 이 연구는 2022 개정 교과서 구성에 대한 교사의 요구를 실제적으로 분석하였다는 점에서 의미가 있다.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the needs of teachers for the organization of the 2022 revised elementary Korean textbook. Methods: The research results on the characteristics of the 2022 revised curriculum, the direction of Korean language education suitable for the future society, and the organization of textbooks were explored. In addition, the teachers' demands for the 2022 revised textbook were analyzed by collecting the contents of teachers' critical reviews of the 2015 revised Korean textbook through an interview method. Results: At the overall level of organization. it was argued to reduce the amount of learning, to place units in consideration of the student's life, and to consider the connection with the content subject. At the unit level, friendly guidance for reading unit and theater unit, addition of sentence- related units, and natural arrangement of learning goals for the next unit were requested. At the activity level, it was argued that a unit learning plan capable of self-direction growth was prepared, guidance materials for the realization of question making activities were included, the effectiveness of the “Into Life” activity was increased, and activities were changed to increase vocabulary. Conclusion: This study is meaningful in that it presented the practical demands of teachers for the organization of the 2022 revised textbook.
