Achievements and Challenges of Developing Development of ‘Korean Textbook for Elementary School in the Reunification Era’

목적: 이 연구에서는 통일국어교육연구회에서 수행한 ‘통일시대 초등학교 국어 교과서’ 개발 과정을 제시하고 그 성과 및 과제를 논의한다. 방법: ‘통일시대 초등학교 국어 교과서’를 분석하여 그 성과가 무엇이고 남겨진 과제가 무엇인지를 논의하여 후속 연구에 시사점을 제공한다. 결과: ‘통일시대 국어 교과서’는 최초로 통일 상정한 국어 교과서 개발 연구로 통일시대 다양한 교실 여건을 고려하여 창의적이고 유연한 교과서 구성 체제를 마련하였고, 통일시대상을 구체적으로 상정하여 교과서를 개발하였다. 남북한 언어의 균형 있게 반영하고자 하였고, 어휘교육을 강화하였다. 또한 상호문화주의에 입각하여 남북한 문화를 교육하였고 매체 문식성을 강조하였다. 다음으로 통일 국어 교과서 개발의 과제를 제시하였다. 정치한 북한 언어현상의 탐색 문제, 북한 주체사상의 수용 문제, 북한 국어교육 및 교과서의 반영 문제, 개발된 교과서의 실효성 문제 등이다. 결론: ‘통일시대 초등학교 국어 교과서’ 개발의 성과 및 과제를 시사점 삼아 통일 국어교육을 설계해야 한다.

Purpose: This study presents the development of ‘Korean textbook for elementary schools in the Reunification Era' conducted by ‘The Reunification Korean Education Research Institute’ and discusses its achievements and challenges. Methods: It provides implications for follow-up research by analyzing the ‘Korean textbook for elementary schools in the Reunification era’ and discussing the achievements and remaining tasks. Results: ‘Korean textbook in the Reunification Era’ is the first study on the development of Korean language textbooks assumed for Reunification era, and a creative and flexible textbook composition system was prepared in consideration of various classroom conditions during the Reunification era, and textbooks were developed with a specific assumption of the Reunification era. It was intended to reflect the balance of North and South Korean languages, and vocabulary education was strengthened. In addition, based on interculturalism, the culture of North and South Korea was educated and media literacy was emphasized. Next, the task of developing a unified Korean textbook was presented. These are the problem of exploring the political phenomenon of North Korean language, the problem of accepting the North Korean ‘Ju-che’ idea, the problem of reflecting the North Korean language education and textbooks, and the problem of the effectiveness of the developed textbooks. Conclusion: It is necessary to prepare for Reunification Korean education based on the achievements and tasks of the development of ‘Korean textbook for elementary schools in the Reunification era’.
