목적 : 이 글은 묘사의 소설교육적 의의를 밝히고, 이를 고전소설교육의 국면으로 전환하여 여성영웅소설 <이대봉전>에서의 묘사의 역할을 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 방법 : 1)묘사의 개념을 서사와의 관계를 중심으로 정교화한다. 2)묘사의 소설교육적 의의를 도출한다. 3)여성영웅소설에서 묘사의 위상을 밝히고, <이대봉전>에서 묘사의 역할을 분석한다. 결과: <이대봉전>의 묘사는 1)병렬적인 방식을 취함으로써 독자로 하여금 서사를 예측할 수 있도록 하고, 2)시각·청각적 표현을 활용한 감각적 묘사를 통해 독자가 상상력을 발휘하도록 하며, 3)인물의 감정을 풍경 및 사물에 대한 묘사를 통해 드러냄으로써 독자의 몰입을 유도하는 역할을 한다. 결론 : 이 글은 묘사를 여성영웅소설을 감상하는 새로운 방법으로 제안해보았다는 점에서 의의를 지니나, 후속 논의를 통해 표현 방식 기저에 담긴 서술자의 의도 및 이념 등을 도출하는 것으로까지 논의를 발전시켜야 할 것이다.
Purpose : This study aims to reveal the educational significance of the description and to turn it into a phase of classical novel education to reveal the role of the description in the heroine novel <Leedaebong-jeon>. Methods : 1) Elaborate the concept of description through the relationship with the narrative. 2) Derive the educational significance of the novel. 3) Identify the status of the description in the heroine novel and analyze the role of the description in <Leedaebong-jeon>. Results : The description of <Leedaebong- jeon> 1) allows readers to predict narratives in parallel ways, 2) allows readers to use their imagination through visual and auditory expressions, and 3) encourages readers to immerse themselves by revealing their emotions through the description of landscapes and objects which is related to the emotion of characters. Conclusion : This study is significant in that it proposed description as a new way to appreciate heroine novels, but it is necessary to elaborate the discussion by deriving the intention and ideology of the narrator through description.
