목적：이 연구는 북한의 외국인 대상 조선어 교재인 ≪혼자서 배울수 있는 조선말≫의 시기별 발행본을 비교하는 데 목적이 있다. 방법：이를 위해 1994년, 1995년, 2015년, 2017년 발행본을 대상으로 각각의 형식적, 내용적 특성을 비교 분석하였다. 결과：학습 목표가 읽고 이해하는 것에서 자신의 의사와 감정을 표현하는 것으로 변화되었다는 점, 내용도 문장 문법 중심에서 기초 회화 및 언어문화 지식 중심으로 변화하였음을 확인하였다. 또한 다른 유학생용 교재에 비해 이념적·선동적 표현이 제한적으로 제시되고 있으며, 학습 방법의 측면에서는 순차적 학습이 가능하도록 한다는 원칙을 준수하고 있음을 확인하였다. 결론：이 책은 조선어를 통해 북한의 사상적 체제와 문화를 습득하게 하려는 의도가 보인다는 점에서 기존의 유학생용 교재와 흐름을 같이하지만, [련습] 활동의 다양화, ‘조선속담’, ‘유모아란’의 신설 등을 통해 독학용 교재가 지니는 고유의 특징도 보여 주고 있다는 결론을 내렸다.
Purpose：The study aimed to compare and analyze the features of different versions of the textbook, “You can Learn Korean by Yourself” published in North Korea. Methods：In order to realize this research goal, we collected the publications from 1994, 1995, 2015, and 2017, and analyzed the content-structural characteristics of each issue according to the criteria of the textbook analysis. Results：First, the study found that this book changed its learning goals from reading and understanding the Korean language to enabling a student to express his or her opinions and feelings in Korean, in a robust way. We pointed out that with these changes in learning objectives, the content that is addressed also changed from grammar-oriented learning to basic conversation and the acquisition of knowledge regarding language culture. It also confirmed that ideological expressions were more limited than in other textbooks. In terms of the learning method, it was confirmed that this book focuses on the importance of vocabulary, and that practice activities tend to be diverse. Conclusion：Based on these results, the study concluded that “You can Learn Korean by Yourself” is differentiated from other textbooks for foreign students in that it is a self-study textbook.
