This study aims to analyze the fact that domestic and foreign coffee-related dramas and movies dealt with the unique social phenomenon of a particular society. Coffee-related dramas and movies were classified as genres oriented toward family values while maintaining the daily life and conservativeness of the society. In addition, difficult subjects such as homosexuality that deviate from social and moral conventional wisdom were dealt with. The properties of coffee derived from domestic and foreign dramas and movies in this study are as follows. Six factors were derived: modernity, free-spiritedness, independence, romanticism, urbanity(dynamics and diversity), and speed and convenience of movement(convenience). It was analyzed that these attributes contributed to coffee-related dramas and movies using coffee as a subject. In particular, it was mainly used in movies and dramas to show the daily life of the main character drinking coffee or the people around him. Or, it was used as a way to convey the various ways of life of young people who come out as owners of coffee shops or dream of becoming baristas. In other words, it was directed by emphasizing or suggesting the behavior of the character. In the end, it was revealed that coffee plays a role in freeing the awkward socio-cultural gaze while dramas and movies are used as the main material to approach the socio-cultural issues of ta particular society.
